Stephen Sargeant – Associate

Mr. Stephen Sargeant is an experienced family law attorney who has been practicing law for over nine (9) years. Mr. Sargeant began his legal career by first attending California State University Los Angeles (CSULA) as a pre-law major in Political Science. While attending CSULA, Mr. Sargeant was placed on the Dean’s list for high academic achievement. After Mr. Sargeant received his Bachelors Degree from the CSULA, he pursued his Juris Doctor Degree at Western State University College of Law.

While attending law school, Mr. Sargeant reached several academic milestones. First, Mr. Sargeant was admitted into the prestigious Western State University Law Review team. Second, Mr. Sargeant received the Witkin’s Award for having the highest grade in criminal law of his graduation class. After graduation, Mr. Sargeant received his Juris Doctor degree and proceeded to open his own family law practice.

Mr. Sargeant opened the Law Office of Stephen M. Sargeant where he represented countless individuals in custody, visitation, support, property division, as well as domestic violence issues. Mr. Sargeant practiced as a family law sole practitioner for six years, until he joined a reputable law firm located in the County of Los Angeles which assisted clients with family, juvenile dependency, guardianship, as well as criminal law matters. During this period of time, Mr. Sargeant became intimately acquainted with various cross-over issues including juvenile dependency, guardianship, and criminal law and, as a result, Mr. Sargeant is familiar with those issues and how they impact family law matters. This unique cross-over experience, coupled with the experience he gained running his own family law firm, has made Mr. Sargeant an excellent addition to the team of Keese Hargraves, LLP.
